Crypto.com, a Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange, has formally established a relationship with the Philadelphia 76ers, becoming the team’s official jersey logo-designated sponsor.
The Crypto.com logo will feature on the left shoulder of all four 76ers jerseys in the upcoming season.
On October 20, when the team plays the New Orleans Pelicans in the regular season, the new jersey featuring the Crypto.com logo will make its debut.
According to reports, this is the first collaboration between an NBA club and over 10 million cryptocurrency exchanges, with a combined transaction volume of more than $400 million.
The 76ers’ President of Business Operations, Chris Heck, stated that this collaboration will disrupt the trend of cryptocurrencies entering the sports industry and that crypto.com is what they have always considered being creative, innovative collaborations.
Crypto.com’s co-founder and CEO, Kris Marszalek, stated:
“The NBA is one of the most popular leagues in the world, and the 76ers were an obvious choice. Together we’re going to create integrated experiences for fans everywhere; our patch and court integrations are just the beginning.”
Crypto.com’s collaboration with NBA clubs is only the beginning of the company’s foray into sports. Crypto.com inked a one-year sponsorship arrangement with the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens as early as March.
Crypto.com and Paris Saint-Germain agreed to a three-year partnership for $29.5 million to $35.4 million last week. Additionally, Crypto.com has partnered with Formula 1 as its Global Partner.
