On Twitter, the tech billionaire said this as he responded to Ben Mezrich’s post. Mezrich, the author of the bestselling book on the Winklevoss twins by the Bitcoin Billionaires, tweeted that he would never turn down getting paid again in Bitcoin.

Elon Musk answered that he would never turn down any possibility of being paid in Bitcoin either.

The Tesla CEO, however, has said that Dogecoin is his favorite cryptocurrency. However, recently, he admitted warming up to Bitcoin by tweeting that his “safeword” now is Bitcoin.

He also said he wanted Ethereum, too (even if it is a scam). The flagship cryptocurrency soared to several consecutive all-time highs earlier this week, eventually achieving the $42,000 mark.

However, a correction followed, and now, according to CoinMarketCap, BTC is valued at $40,799.

Elon Musk to the globe

Recently, the billionaire overtook Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to grab the wealthiest person’s title in the world.

Early Thursday, a 5% increase in Tesla shares increased its CEO stock’s value in options by about $9.3 billion, to about $190 billion. Bezos’ Amazon shares were boosted by $2.7 billion by a more modest gain of less than 2 percent, putting him at $187 billion.

According to Bloomberg, Bill Gates is now a distant third at $132 billion.

Musk, worth about $27 billion, started in 2020 and was barely among the top 50 wealthiest people.

Over the past year, Tesla’s rocketing share price soared more than ninefold, and his lavish pay package added more than $150 billion to his net worth.

In July, Musk passed Warren Buffett to become the seventh-richest man. Musk raced past Bill Gates in November to become the second-richest man. Over the past 12 months, Musk has earned more money than Gates’ entire $132 billion net worth.
