2020 is the year that saw the biggest increase in the number of Bitcoin ATMs, with the total number of Bitcoin ATMs now surpassing 10,000 worldwide.
The number of Bitcoin ATMs has increased by 87% over the past year (from 5,336 machines recorded in September 2019)
According to data compiled from CoinATMRadar, as of now, there are 10,014 Bitcoin ATMs in 71 countries that allow users to buy and sell Bitcoin and altcoins for cash.
The report by AksjeBloggen, the Norwegian financial services company, said 2020 was the year when the number of Bitcoin ATMs increased the most.
“From September to September of 2020, there were 3,885 Bitcoin ATMs available worldwide, which represents a 67% increase in 9 months.”
The country with the most Bitcoin ATMs is the United States with 7,800, Canada is second with 869.
However, there are a few countries where the number of Bitcoin ATMs has decreased sharply compared to 2019. As Austria (Austria) has 149 Bitcoin ATMs, a decrease of 95 compared to 2019 is 244 machines.
The drop could be related to crypto legislation in that country, for example Germany due to the difficulty of regulation in this country for cryptocurrencies, currently only 27 Bitcoin ATMs.
Currently, Bitcoin ATMs all support the most popular coins such as Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Dash, Litecoin, Zcash, Monero, Dogecoin, USDT and XRP.
